Niscayah is committed to maintaining a drug-free and alcohol-free workplace.

  • Drinking alcoholic beverages is prohibited while on duty or on the premises of Niscayah or its job sites.
  • Possessing, using, selling or offering illegal drugs and other controlled substances is prohibited in all circumstances while on duty or on the premises of Niscayah or its job sites.
  • Employees or subcontractors are prohibited from reporting for work whilst under the influence of alcohol or any illegal drug or controlled substance.


Niscayah will ensure the safety of each employee and subcontractor by having health and safety checks of employees conducted as part of the recruitment process.  Prior to performing services for Niscayah all supplier employees and subcontractors employees who will work at a Niscayah site for more than one business day shall undergo a health and safety check, unless prohibited by law, and shall include the following components:

 

  • Criminal background check – a supplier employee or subcontractor shall be deemed ineligible to perform Services for Niscayah if the individual has been convicted, released or paroled within 7 years (3 years in the case of a misdemeanor) from the date of screening of any felony involving  the sale, manufacture, or distribution of a controlled substance (including Marijuana); sex offenses; a violation or destruction of property (e.g. arson, vandalism, trespass, or computer hacking); or an unlicensed weapon possession
  • Credit check – a credit check will only be required where necessary for compliance with the Federal Credit Reporting Act or other applicable laws and regulations or where the individual will have access to highly sensitive information as designated by Niscayah
  • Drugs and alcohol check – shall include a five panel drug screen for Cocaine, Opiates (Morphine/Heroin/Codeine), Amphetamines, Methamphetamine, and THC (Marijuana)
